Hello, friends, I'm Albert! Why Albert, you may ask. Let me explain.
I was born in a small village in Zunhua county, Hebei province, a place so famous for its good fengshui that 5 Qing dynasty emperors were buried there. My parents are farmers. When I was very young I used to watch them in the fields, plowing, planting and harvesting, really hard work, so my father always encouraged me to study hard otherwise that would also be my fate. I went to college to study tourism English, and in my first class the professor told us we could not use Chinese, only English, and that included our names, so she gave us a dictionary of English names to let us pick one. When it came my turn I remembered I did very poor in maths and physics, so I decided I would choose a great scientist's name to bring me luck in becoming smarter. I chose Albert Einstein's first name.
After graduating from college I came to Beijing, the capital of China and the heart of Chinese people, a good combination of the old with the modern, a city constantly changing. Having worked as a tour guide for over 7 years, I have hosted a lot of travelers from all over the world, showed them the Forbidden City, shared stories about ancient emperors, walked on the Great Wall together, thinking about all the warriors who fought and died there. Strolling around the Olympic Park, reminiscing of the fantastic opening ceremony of the Olympic Games of 2008, and looking forward to the 2022 Winter Olympics, every day is an amazing day in this amazing city.
I'm Albert. Come explore Beijing with me!
